How we support children/young people with SEN starting at our school
When you visit our school, the Head Teacher, Mrs Hymers, will give you a tour and your child will have opportunities to see their new classroom and meet their key worker. If your child has SEND, our SENCO will liaise with the SENCO from your child’s previous setting (if any) to ensure that we have the required information to enable us to support your child fully. It would be beneficial if you could discuss your child’s needs with us and share any information you have when you visit.
How we support children/young people with SEN leaving our school
Transition from Nursery to another school can be a big step for children and their families. We arrange meetings with schools so that the staff can prepare for new children starting. Where possible, we encourage families to visit the new school to meet new staff and see the setting prior to the child starting.
